Terms of Service

SatsList ("the Platform," "we," "us") is a listings and messaging service that helps people find each other to buy and sell legal goods, priced and paid for in Bitcoin.

The Platform is not a marketplace operator in the traditional sense.

We do not process payments, hold funds, act as an escrow agent, or take any part in the actual exchange of money or goods between a buyer and a seller. Every transaction happens entirely peer-to-peer: a buyer pays a seller's Lightning wallet directly. We never see, touch, or have access to that payment.

By creating an account, posting a listing, or contacting another user through this Platform, you agree to these Terms.

• We are not a party to any transaction. Any agreement to buy or sell an item is solely between the buyer and the seller. We are not involved in negotiating, completing, or guaranteeing that transaction in any way.
• We do not verify users, items, or payments. We do not run background checks on sellers or buyers, do not inspect items, and do not confirm that a payment was actually sent or received.
• There is no escrow and no buyer/seller protection. Because we never hold funds, there is no mechanism on this Platform to recover money if a deal goes wrong — no refunds issued by us, no chargebacks, no dispute resolution that results in money moving. Bitcoin/Lightning payments are generally irreversible once sent.
• You are responsible for your own due diligence. This includes vetting who you're dealing with, agreeing on terms with the other party (shipping, condition of the item, timing of payment, etc.), and deciding whether a given listing or user seems trustworthy before sending any payment.

We provide:

• A place to post and browse listings
• A way to message other users
• A way to leave a rating after a transaction

We do not provide:

• Payment processing of any kind between users
• Identity verification of users
• Guarantees about the condition, legality, or existence of any listed item
• Resolution of disputes that result in moving money

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SatsList and its owner/operator(s) are not liable for:

• Fraudulent listings or fraudulent users
• A seller who takes payment and never delivers an item
• A buyer who never pays after agreeing to a deal
• Items that are misrepresented, damaged, lost in shipping, or never sent
• Any financial loss arising from a transaction conducted through this Platform

You use this Platform, and you enter into transactions with other users, entirely at your own risk.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to create an account or use this Platform.

You may not list, sell, or attempt to buy:

• Anything illegal to sell or possess under applicable law
• Stolen goods
• Anything that violates the rights of a third party (counterfeit goods, items infringing intellectual property, etc.)

You may not use this Platform to:

• Harass, threaten, or defraud another user
• Post false or misleading listings
• Attempt to circumvent any safety feature of the Platform

We reserve the right to remove any listing, suspend, or terminate any account, at our discretion, for any violation of these Terms.

Ratings are the personal opinion of the user who left them, based on their own experience. We do not verify the accuracy of ratings or reviews and are not responsible for their content.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users or to the Platform.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SatsList and its owner/operator(s) from any claim, loss, or damage — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your use of the Platform, your listings, or your transactions with other users.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Be honest in your listings, be respectful in your messages, and treat the other person on the other end of the trade the way you'd want to be treated if the sats were flowing the other direction. No empty boxes, no fake tracking numbers, no ghosting. Stack sats, not grudges.
